Pridefest 2012: Beyond the Rainbow
Join Pride South Florida for Pridefest 2012, returning to its longtime home War Memorial Auditorium in its 35th Anniversary year. PrideFest is a celebration and tribute to the LGBT community's unique culture and forward-facing optimism. The weekend-long event includes non-stop entertainment, local DJs on the dance floor and diverse South Florida entertainers. Featured entertainers include: Taylor Dayne, Michelle Balan, Ray Guell, Alexis Salgato, Tony Cruz, Julissa Veloz, Jonathon D. Lovitz, Beverly McClellan and Simon Sez Comedy Hypnosis. There will be plenty of food and drink along with all the vendors inside the air-conditioned War Memorial Auditorium, and outside as well. Admission: $10. Quilt Show by the Sea
This expo, sponsored by Once Upon a Quilt… where dreams come true, is a weekend full of quilting and lots of fun. The show features workshops with national teachers, a competition with more than 100 beautiful quilts on display, special quilt exhibit, merchant mall, demonstrations, a raffle quilt, quilt auction and Bernina sewing machine sales. Buses are welcome and the show is handicapped accessible.
