TEACHER LEADERS OF LEARNING 

To increase the public perception of the overall quality of public education in the City of Fort Lauderdale, The Administration Division of the City Manager’s Office will launch a new annual celebration to commemorate all City of Fort Lauderdale 'Teachers of the Year'. This event will include a reception scheduled for the first Commission Meeting in February 2025 where awards and certificates will be presented. In collaboration with the Strategic Communications Division, promotional photos and commentaries highlighted in the FTL Connect Magazine will be published honoring their contributions to the profession and investment in education within Fort Lauderdale. Applicants are selected by a voting process with the faculty at their school.  The Teacher of the Year selected at each school may complete an extensive application process that includes a resume, three letters of reference, and five writing prompt responses in order to be considered and selected for the Broward County Public School’s Teacher of the Year.

February 2026                      Teacher of the Year Reception 5:00 p.m.

                                                Commission Meeting Presentation 6:00 p.m.

March 2026                          “FTL Teacher Leaders in Learning” in FTL Connect
