• The contractor is making sewer main connections along NE 38th Street at NE 13th Avenue.
• NE 38th Street is closed at NE 13th Avenue through May 2026. Traffic is being detoured to NE 39th Street, NE 15th Avenue, NE 37th Street, NE 13th Avenue, NE 36th Street and NE 12th Avenue.
• NE 38th Street is open to local traffic only between NE 12th Avenue and NE 15th Avenue.
• NE 13th Avenue is open to local traffic only between NE 39th Street and NE 37th Street.
• Please follow posted signs and drive with caution.

Construction Schedule

Roadway restoration is scheduled to take place in May 2026. Restoration will require temporary road closures. Notifications will be shared before restoration begins. Construction is expected to be completed in spring 2026.

Work is generally taking place Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Some weekend and overnight work may be required. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Construction Update: April 1, 2026

The emergency repair work described below along US 1 / N. Federal Highway between NE 37th Drive and Coral Ridge View Drive has been completed.

All lanes of US 1 / N. Federal Highway in this area are now open.

We appreciate the patience of our neighbors while this work was underway.

Construction Update: March 31, 2026

Project Overview

The City of Fort Lauderdale is working with David Mancini & Sons, Inc. to replace sewer force main along NE 38th Street from NE 12th Avenue to US 1 / N. Federal Highway in the City of Oakland Park and the Coral Ridge Country Club Estates neighborhood.

The contractor is working in two areas on NE 38th Street: 

• South of the intersection at NE 13th Avenue 
• At the roundabout on NE 16th Avenue 

 Traffic Impacts (February 2026 – May 2026)

• NE 38th Street will be closed at NE 16th Avenue Traffic will be detoured to NE 39th Street, NE 15th Avenue and NE 37th Street.
• NE 38th Street will be open to local traffic only between N. Dixie Highway and NE 16th Avenue and between NE 16th Avenue and N. Federal Highway.
• NE 13th Avenue will be open to local traffic only between NE 38th Street and NE 37th Street. Through traffic will be detoured to NE 12th Avenue and NE 36th Street.
• NE 16th Avenue will be open to local traffic only between NE 37th Street and NE 39th Street.

Construction Update: March 27, 2026

Emergency repair work will take place along US 1 / N. Federal Highway between NE 37th Drive and Coral Ridge View Drive starting tonight, Friday, March 27 at 7 p.m. The contractor will be addressing an issue discovered during recent pressure testing conducted prior to activating the sewer main. Work is expected to be completed by Thursday, April 2. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Traffic Impact

• One northbound lane of US 1 / N. Federal Highway will be closed between NE 33rd Court and NE 39th Street daily between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
• Two northbound lanes of US 1 / N. Federal Highway will be closed between NE 33rd Court and NE 39th Street overnight between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.

 Neighborhood Impacts

• Intermittent noise from heavy machinery, equipment and backup alarms is expected, and temporary lights will be used to illuminate the work area.
• The contractor will take measures to reduce light and noise impacts for surrounding neighbors.
