Powers and Duties of the City Manager Search Committee
The City Manager Search Committee has been tasked with several key responsibilities:
- Advising the City Commission – The committee will provide valuable recommendations on all matters related to the hiring of a new City Manager for Fort Lauderdale.
- Community Input – The committee will listen to feedback from residents, neighborhoods, and community groups regarding their concerns and expectations for the next City Manager, and will pass these along to the City Commission.
- Candidate Review – With the help of an external consultant, the committee will review resumes, interview selected candidates, and prepare a short list of finalists for the City Commission to consider.
- Additional Responsibilities – From time to time, the City Commission may request the committee to carry out other duties as part of this important process.
