The City of Fort Lauderdale and Lanzo Construction Company are working to upgrade approximately 23,370 feet of large sanitary sewer pipelines from Sunrise Boulevard to the George T. Lohmeyer Wastewater Treatment Plant to enhance the reliability, capacity, and environmental safety of Fort Lauderdale’s wastewater system.
Work is generally taking place Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. The schedules below are subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Below is information about current work areas. Traffic control personnel are directing traffic as needed. Please follow posted signs and drive with caution.

Construction Update: Tuesday, May 12, 2026
Victoria Park
The City of Fort Lauderdale is working with Lanzo Construction Co. to make improvements to the City’s sewer system using a process called cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining, which is a trenchless method to rehabilitate underground sewer lines and extend their longevity while minimizing excavation and disruption.
Through June 2026, cured-in-place pipe lining of approximately 1,650 feet of sewer lines is taking place along:
- NE 10th Avenue between NE 2nd Street and NE 4th Street
- NE 4th Street between NE 10th Avenue and NE 13th Avenue
Traffic Impacts
The following roads are closed in both directions throughout construction:
- NE 10th Avenue from NE 2nd Street to NE 3rd Street
- NE 10th Avenue from NE 3rd Street to NE 4th Street
- NE 4th Street from NE 10th Avenue to NE 11th Avenue
- NE 4th Street from NE 11th Avenue to NE 12th Avenue
- NE 4th Street from NE 12th Avenue to NE 13th Avenue
Traffic is being detoured to NE 3rd Street, NE 9th Avenue, NE 11th Avenue, NE 12th Avenue and NE 13th Avenue.
The following intersections are closed throughout construction:
- NE 10th Avenue and NE 2nd Street
- NE 10th Avenue and NE 4th Street

- NE 16th Avenue

- A portion of NE 16th Avenue running north and south through the intersection of NE 9th Street
- NE 9th Street between NE 16th Avenue and NE 16th Terrace
- NE 9th Street between NE 17th Avenue and NE 17th Terrace
- NE 9th Street between North Victoria Park Road and NE 18th Avenue
- A portion of NE 18th Avenue, beginning at the intersection of NE 9th Street and heading north

Through August 2026, cured-in-place pipe lining of approximately 1,300 feet of sewer lines is taking place along:
- NE 9th Place and NE 20th Avenue in Victoria Park
- Middle River Drive south of E. Sunrise Boulevard
Traffic Impacts
- NE 9th Place is closed between NE 19th Avenue and NE 20th Avenue.
- Traffic is being detoured to NE 8th Court and NE 19th Avenue.
- The northbound lane of NE 20th Avenue is closed between NE 8th Court and E. Sunrise Boulevard.
- Access to Sunrise Boulevard from northbound NE 20th Avenue is not permitted.
- Traffic is being detoured to NE 8th Court and NE 19th Avenue.
- Individual coordination is ongoing with businesses that have driveways within the northbound lane closure to maintain access and parking.
- One southbound lane of Middle River Drive is closed between E. Sunrise Boulevard and NE 9th Street.

Downtown Fort Lauderdale
Through June 2026, construction is taking place along:
- SE 3rd Avenue between SE 6th Street and SE 6th Court.
- SE 3rd Avenue between SE 11th Court and Davie Blvd.
Work includes:
- Horizontal directional drilling of approximately 3,500 feet of sewer pipes.
- Connecting recently installed sewer pipes.
- Restoring the roadway, sidewalks and landscaping as needed.
Traffic Impact
The following roads are closed throughout construction:
- One lane in each direction and the middle turn lane of SE 3rd Ave. is closed between SE 6th Street and SE 6th Court. Traffic is being shifted to the outside lanes of the road.
- One lane in each direction and the middle turn lane of SE 3rd Ave. is closed between SE 11th Court and Davie Blvd. Traffic is being shifted to the outside lanes of the road.

The following roads are closed throughout construction:
- One lane in each direction of Davie Boulevard is closed between SE 3rd Avenue and SE 4th Avenue. Traffic is being shifted to the south side of the road.
- The intersection of SE 12th Street and Miami Road.
- One westbound lane along SE 12th Street between Miami Road and SE 9th Avenue.
Detours are in effect:
- Along SE 12th Court, SE 10th Avenue, SE 12th Street, SE 9th Avenue, and SE 11th Court.

Original Project Overview: December 2024
The City of Fort Lauderdale and Lanzo Construction Company are working to upgrade approximately 23,370 feet of large sanitary sewer pipelines from Sunrise Boulevard to the George T. Lohmeyer Wastewater Treatment Plant. The project includes:
- Rehabilitation of over 13,000 feet of existing sewer pipelines
- Installation of over 10,000 feet of new sewer pipelines
- Restoration of existing sewer connections
- Road resurfacing as needed
Schedule
Construction began in December 2024 and is expected to be completed in August 2026. Work is generally taking place Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Traffic Impacts
- Neighbors are asked to refrain from parking within the streets where work is taking place daily between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. until this project is completed
- Access to driveways will be maintained unless work is taking place in the immediate area across from the driveway. Crews will attempt to coordinate with neighbors prior to the start of asphalt operations
- Updates will be provided on any additional impacts to traffic or parking.
- Please follow posted signs and drive with caution in the area.
