The City of Fort Lauderdale is working with Lanzo Construction Co. to make improvements to the City’s sewer system along Miami Road and SE 10th Avenue in Harbordale. These improvements are designed to enhance the reliability, capacity, and environmental safety of Fort Lauderdale’s wastewater system.
This work includes:

Construction will begin Friday, December 19, 2025 and is expected to end in early January 2026.
Crews will complete final site restoration after all construction in the area is complete. Since this work is part of a larger effort, restoration may occur beyond the dates shown.

Crews will be using a process called cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining, which is a trenchless method to rehabilitate underground sewer lines and extend their longevity while minimizing excavation and disruption. This work includes:
Construction will occur along NE 9th Place and NE 20th Avenue in Victoria Park and along Middle River Drive south of E. Sunrise Boulevard.
Construction will begin on Monday, January 5, 2026, and is expected to be completed by May 2026.
Work will take place Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Traffic Impacts
NE 9th Place will be closed between NE 19th Avenue and NE 20th Avenue.
The northbound lane of NE 20th Avenue will be closed between NE 8th Court and E. Sunrise Boulevard.
One southbound lane of Middle River Drive will be closed between E. Sunrise Boulevard and NE 9th Street.
Traffic control personnel will direct traffic as needed. Please follow the posted signs and drive with caution in the area.

Notice of 24-hour Drilling Operation
Crews will be performing horizontal directional drilling (HDD) to install a new sewer main along SE 9th Avenue in Rio Vista and Beverly Heights starting Friday, August 15 and continuing through Sunday, August 17.
Due to the nature of HDD work, this operation must run continuously, 24 hours a day, until it is complete. We understand the noise and inconvenience this operation may cause and will work diligently to complete it as soon as possible. It is not expected to exceed three days, however, the schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Work will take place at the entry and exit points where the pipes are being installed. The work zone in Rio Vista is at the intersection of SE 9th Avenue and SE 6th Street. The work zone in Beverly Heights is at the intersection of SE 9th Avenue and SE 2nd Court. Please follow posted signs and drive with caution in both areas.

UPDATE: July 10, 2025
Crews will be performing horizontal directional drilling (HDD) to install new a sewer main along Miami Road from SE 12th Street to SE 15th Street in Harbordale starting Friday, July 11, and continuing through Sunday, July 13.
Work will take place at the intersections of Miami Road and SE 12th Street and Miami Road and SE 15th Street. Those are the entry and exit points where the pipes are being installed.
Due to the nature of HDD work, this operation must run continuously, 24 hours a day, until it is complete. A noise ordinance exemption has been approved for this work and will not exceed three days.
The following traffic impacts are in effect in Harbordale as part of the current phase of construction:
These roads are expected to reopen in late July when restoration is completed. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

The City of Fort Lauderdale and Lanzo Construction are launching a multi-phase infrastructure improvement project along the city’s wastewater network.
Phase 1 of the project will soon begin in the Harbordale neighborhood.
These improvements are designed to enhance the reliability, capacity, and environmental safety of Fort Lauderdale’s wastewater system.
Where: Construction will occur along southbound Miami Rd. and SE 10th Ave. and along SE 15th St. between Miami Rd. and SE 10th Ave, near Harbordale Elementary School.
When: Phase 1 construction will begin in June 2025 and is expected to be completed in August of 2025.

Alternative Parking: Alternative parking zones are available for residents on SE 15th St. during construction hours. Please refer to the image for designated Harbordale neighborhood parking areas.
