Construction Update: Monday, November 24, 2025
Crews will be resurfacing asphalt along NW 6th Street / Sistrunk Boulevard between NW 7th Avenue and NW 4th Avenue starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, December 1 until approximately 6 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
• NW 6th Street / Sistrunk Boulevard will be open to local traffic only from NW 7th Avenue to Andrews Avenue.
• Through traffic will be detoured to NW 4th Street and NW 7th Street at NW 7th Avenue and Andrews Avenue.
• Traffic control personnel will be available to assist with access to properties in the area.
• Please follow posted signs and drive with caution.
Since construction began in April 2025, 98 drainage structures and 19,200 feet of stormwater pipe have been installed. Construction is expected to be completed in fall 2026. Thank you for your patience as we upgrade our stormwater system.

Construction Update: Wednesday, October 15, 2025
Crews will be restoring drainage infrastructure near the intersection of Broward Boulevard and SW 5th Avenue in Sailboat Bend.
Schedule:
- Wed., Oct. 22 – Fri., Oct. 24 Daily between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.
- Mon., Oct. 27 – Fri., Oct. 31 Mon.-Thu. evenings between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.
This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances. The following traffic impacts will be in effect during work hours:
Southbound SW 5th Avenue Full Closure
- Southbound SW 5th Avenue will be closed south of W. Broward Boulevard.
- Turns from both directions of W. Broward Boulevard to southbound SW 5th Avenue will not be permitted.
- Traffic will be detoured to SW 7th Avenue, W. Broward Boulevard, SW 2nd Street and SW 4th Avenue.
Eastbound Broward Boulevard Lane Closure (Overnight Oct. 27-31 Only)
- Two eastbound lanes of W. Broward Boulevard will be closed at SW 5th Avenue.
- One eastbound lane will remain open.
Please follow posted signs and drive with caution in the area.
Since construction began in April 2025, 95 drainage structures and 15,828 feet of stormwater pipe have been installed. Construction is expected to be completed in fall 2026. Thank you for your patience as we upgrade our stormwater system.

Pedestrian Impacts: September 22- October 13, 2025
- A portion of the Riverwalk near the Broward Center for the Performing Arts will be closed to pedestrians while crews remove pavers to repair a 72-inch stormwater pipe that runs along SW 5th Avenue.
- The stairs that connect the Riverwalk to the Broward Center for the Performing Arts will be inaccessible.
- A portion of the grassy area within Esplanade Park near SW 5th Avenue will be closed.
- Please follow posted signs and exercise caution in the area.

Project Overview:
The City of Fort Lauderdale is working with Man-Con, Inc. to make improvements to the stormwater system in the Progresso Village neighborhood to enhance its efficiency and reliability.
This project includes:
- Installing 21,000 feet of stormwater pipe
- Installing 100 drainage structures
- Installing a new stormwater pump station
- Reconstructing swale areas
- Relocating nearby water and sewer lines
- Reconstructing driveways and sidewalks
- Restoring pavement
- Trimming trees
Construction will begin on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, and is expected to be completed in fall 2026. Work will generally take place Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Traffic Impacts

Lane closures and full road closures are expected along streets within the neighborhood during various phases of construction.
- Traffic control personnel and detour signs will direct traffic as needed.
- Access to driveways and homes will be maintained.
