Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale is one of the "10 Best" Riverwalks across the US!

We're thrilled to announce that Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale was named #7 on the list of USA Today's 10 Best Riverwalks across the US

Location

Two miles inland from the Atlantic shoreline, Fort Lauderdale's Riverwalk runs along the New River from its west boundary in Sailboat Bend to its east boundary at Laura Ward Plaza. The Riverwalk District is a 3 square mile area which includes the 2.5 mile linear walk along the New River (on both sides) and includes the following additional parks:

Initiated in 1986 with a $7.4 million investment, the park has been a catalyst for over $1.5 billion in public and private redevelopment along the New River. And the investment has paid off! Whether you're looking to relax, explore, or play, the Riverwalk District offers a little something for everyone.

About Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale:

Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale oversees a 3 square mile area known as the Riverwalk District which includes the 2 1/2 mile linear walk along the New River on the north and south side and includes 10 additional parks located in the Riverwalk District. Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale is a charitable nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization responsible for the planning, programming, beautification and promotion of Riverwalk Park.

The organization is composed primarily of volunteer private citizens and overseen by a board of directors. Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale works closely with the City of Fort Lauderdale, Broward County, the Downtown Development Authority of Fort Lauderdale, and other important partners in the public and private sectors in overseeing the development, activation and growth for the Riverwalk linear park and downtown Riverwalk District. It is through these partnerships that they work to produce events and activities benefiting the Park and the city. 

These events and activities have made Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale an invested participant in the growth of Fort Lauderdale and the Riverwalk District in Downtown.
