The City of Fort Lauderdale is working with Gardening Angel to replace Crape Myrtle trees within the City’s right-of-way along the north side of SW 20th Street between SW 10th Avenue and Coconut Drive in River Oaks. This project includes:
- Removing some Crape Myrtle trees & relocating them to a City park
- Planting Simpson’s Stoppers trees where Crape Myrtles are removed
This work will begin on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, and is expected to be completed by Wednesday, June 18, 2025. Work will take place weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Traffic & Parking Impacts
- Neighbors are asked to refrain from parking along SW 20th Street during work hours.
- One lane in each direction of SW 20th Street within the work area may be closed during work hours. Traffic control personnel will direct traffic as needed.
- Please follow posted signs and drive with caution in the area.
