How Boaters Can Help Keep Fort Lauderdale Waterways Clean

Post Date:October 30, 2025 9:00 AM
After a day on the water, be sure to:
  • Use onshore pumpout facilities and waste dump receptacles to reduce or eliminate the discharge of sewage into waters.
  • Do not discharge any sewage (even treated sewage) while moored at a marina. Never discharge untreated sewage into US territory waters.
  • Follow the instructions when using and maintaining a marine sanitation device.
  • Whenever possible, use restrooms and showers provided on land.
