Water Main Repair Near 80 Hendricks Isle

Asphalt restoration has been completed, and all lanes of Hendricks Isle are now open. We thank our neighbors for their patience while this work was underway.

Update (Thursday, January 8 at 3:38 p.m.)

An asphalt restoration crew is on the way Hendricks Isle.

Update (Wednesday, January 7 at 12:49 p.m.)

Due to unforeseen circumstances related to the asphalt truck, asphalt restoration is expected to take place on Thursday, January 8.

Update (Tuesday, January 6 at 6:40 p.m.)

City crews have completed their investigation and confirmed that the leak originated from a water service line on private property. City staff will contact the property manager to discuss next steps.

During the investigation, crews removed a water valve, which required a temporary interruption of water service. A precautionary boil water notice is in effect for all of Hendricks Isle. Residents will be notified via Alert FTL once the notice is lifted.

Cleanup efforts are underway, and final asphalt restoration is scheduled for Wednesday, January 7. All lanes on Hendricks Isle are expected to reopen by Wednesday afternoon.

Original Notice (Tuesday, December 30 at 3 p.m.)

City crews are monitoring a possible leaking water main near 80 Hendricks Isle in the Hendricks and Venice Isles neighborhood that is causing water to pool in the swale.

Crews will be on site to investigate the source of the leak and perform any necessary repairs on Tuesday, January 6 between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

While repairs are underway, the following traffic impacts will be in effect:

  • One lane of Hendricks Isle will be closed near 80 Hendricks Isle.
  • Traffic control personnel will direct traffic within the remaining open lane.

Drivers should follow directions from traffic control personnel and drive with caution in the area.

Water service may be temporarily interrupted while repairs are underway. Neighbors will be notified via Alert FTL if this becomes necessary. Sign up to receive emergency notifications from the City at fortlauderdale.gov/alertftl.
