Developer Chosen for Holiday Park Parking Garage

Post Date:January 07, 2026 9:15 AM

The Fort Lauderdale City Commission has voted to approve Holiday Park Parking Partners as the developer for a new multi-use parking and public safety project at Holiday Park, advancing efforts to address growing parking demand and enhance emergency response services in the area.

The accepted proposal will include a new parking garage with rooftop vertiport, a surface-level public parking lot, and an integrated Fire-Rescue/EMS Substation located near NE 8 Street and NE 10 Avenue. Together, the improvements are designed to support Holiday Park’s major cultural, recreational, and community destinations while strengthening public safety infrastructure.

“Holiday Park is one of Fort Lauderdale’s most well-known community spaces and is a hub for activity and leisure,” said Mayor Dean Trantalis. “This project reflects our commitment to respect the environment and plan thoughtfully for the future.”

Holiday Park is home to several of the City’s most heavily visited facilities, including The Parker, FTL War Memorial Auditorium, Baptist Health IcePlex, and the Jimmy Evert Tennis Center. The new parking and emergency services facilities will help meet current and future needs driven by continued growth in the surrounding area.

“By expanding parking capacity and enhancing emergency response capabilities, we’re investing in both quality of life and public safety for our residents and visitors,” said Commissioner Steven Glassman. “Our commitment goes beyond working for today. The vertiport demonstrates the City’s commitment to working for the future.”

The final project scope including costs, timelines, and operational details will be determined through negotiations and presented to the City Commission for review and approval at a future public meeting.
