Past NSN Neighbors' Choice Award Winners

2019 - Department of Sustainable Development (DSD):

DSD worked tirelessly to create a fun and exciting Broadway experience. Neighbors got walk down a red carpet, complete with spotlights, curtains, velvet ropes, show tunes, popcorn, New York street signs, and a faux marquee. The DSD team emphasized educating neighbors on the different divisions within the department and how they all work together. This was accomplished with a custom Playbill, descriptive table covers, personalized marquee, and every team member being on the same page. All of these elements came together to create a truly memorable experience.

MRA_2008-120px  2018 - Public Works-Sustainability: The Sustainability Division shared best practices through activities that included hosting an ever-popular residential free tree giveaway, encouraging neighbors to “pledge” to save water and energy with encouragement from Sammy Save-a-Lot, Broward County’s Conservation Pays mascot; teaching neighbors stormwater dos and don’ts through a Wheel of Fortune inspired game; and giving away more than $1,500 in “Green Bucks” won at the corn hole toss.

2017 - Human Resources: The Human Resources Department actively engaged neighbors with face-to-face interaction, helped them explore job opportunities, and promoted the community programs the City supports, including KAPOW (Kids and the Power of Work) and the SYEP (Summer Youth Employment Program).
