The Fort Lauderdale Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) was created in April 1989, pursuant to the authority provided in the Florida statute under the Community Redevelopment Act. The purpose and objectives of the CRA are to formulate and implement and workable program that utilizes both public and private resources to eliminate an prevent the spread of blighted areas located in the City’s Community Redevelopment areas. A comprehensive plan for the Northwest Progresso Flagler Heights Community Redevelopment Area was adopted by the Fort Lauderdale CRA on November 7th 1995 and amended on May 15, 2001.
The Northwest Progresso Flagler Heights Community Redevelopment Area is approximately 1400 acres and is generally bounded by Sunrise Boulevard on the North, Boward Boulevard on the south, Federal Highway on the east and the City limits on the west (excluding the area of Andrews Avenue to Federal Highway between Broward Boulevard and NE 4th Street).
