What is Noise Control?

The City has defined rules for noise control in our Code of Ordinance Chapter 17 - Noise Control.

Public Comments

The public is invited to submit comments on any agenda items to NoiseControlAdvisoryCommitteeBoard@fortlauderdale.gov

  • Comments must be submitted no later than 48 hours prior to the start of a meeting.
  • Keep in mind that your e-mail address, comments, and other information will become part of the official public record, as required by Florida law. If you do not want your personal information included in the official record, do not proceed.

The Purpose of the Noise Control Advisory Committee:

To evaluate the impact of noise generated in the City of Fort Lauderdale by source and recipient and make recommendations to the City Commission on the implementation of strategies that provide a balanced approach to the administration and enforcement of the City's Noise Control Program in a manner that allows businesses to thrive while assuring a reasonable noise comfort level for residents. 

The Noise Control Advisory Committee shall be comprised of the following:

1. Five (5) members shall be residents of areas in the City of Fort Lauderdale impacted by noise, each nominated by the Mayor and each City Commissioner.

2. Five (5) members shall be owners of businesses located within the City of Fort Lauderdale, each nominated by the Mayor and each City Commissioner.
