Please be aware that the processing time for Vacation Rental applications and renewals may take approximately 10-12 business days during the peak renewal season (August through September). We appreciate your patience and understanding during this period.
All communication relating to vacation rentals is maintained via email (VacationRental@fortlauderdale.gov). The renewal deadline for certification is August 1 and all certificates expire September 30 of every year. The City of Fort Lauderdale Business Tax License expires September 30 and requires renewal. The City Business Tax Receipt renewal fee is $157.50 and is invoiced separately from the vacation rental renewal fee.
A $100.00 LATE FEE IS ASSESSED TO ANY VACATION RENTAL RENEWAL APPLICATION NOT SUBMITTED OR INCOMPLETE BY THE RENEWAL DEADLINE.
APPLICATIONS NOT COMPLETELY SUBMITTED AND PAID BY THE EXPIRATION DATE (SEPTEMBER 30) ARE PROCESSED AS NEW APPLICATIONS ($880.00 APPLICATION FEE) AND A NEW INSPECTION IS REQUIRED INCLUDING OWNER OCCUPIED PROPERTIES.
