    About the StartUp FTL Program

StartUp FTL is a City of Fort Lauderdale initiative created to support local entrepreneurs at critical early stages of business development. The program is rooted in practical learning, real-world application, and building confidence—so participants are better prepared to take meaningful next steps in their business journey. StartUp FTL originally launched as a 10-week program built on the Kauffman FastTrac model, a hands-on approach that combines easy-to-follow lessons, group discussions, and personalized support to help entrepreneurs research their market, understand their customers, build strong business plans, adapt when needed, understand finances, and prepare for unexpected challenges. The program has since evolved into an accelerated 8-week format, allowing for deeper conversations and focused learning while still delivering the full value of a traditional cohort experience.
