In 2022, the City of Fort Lauderdale piloted the Housing Navigation Program to provide field outreach and intake assessments to connect chronically homeless individuals with appropriate services and housing.
This unique partnership is a collaboration between the City and the TaskForce Fore Ending Homelessness organization to reduce displaced individuals in the City of Fort Lauderdale and address a City Commission Top Priority.
During Fiscal Year 2023, the Housing Navigation Program achieved a 65% success rate, with 28 out of 43 participants accepting housing placement. In Fiscal Year 2024, we expanded to two teams and identified 162 individuals to our housing navigation list. Out of which 34 were housed or reunified with family members.
