Starting March 1, 2025, payments made to the City of Fort Lauderdale by credit card or PIN-less debit cards will incur a service fee which is determined by the City’s third-party processor as 2.75% of your total payment amount. The City does not receive any portion of this fee.

This city-wide change will be implemented in phases. The fee does not apply to payments made via:

  • Recurring ACH or one-time EFT transactions
  • In-person check payments at 700 NW 19th Avenue
  • Checks sent by mail to 700 NW 19th Avenue

To avoid the fee, consider using one of these alternative payment methods.

The City of Fort Lauderdale is always working on making our services more efficient and offers digital plan review with the LauderBuild Plan Room (LPR). Neighbors are able to upload their documents and manage the review process from the convenience of their home or office.

The digital plan and review process provides greater transparency for customers with user-friendly, enhanced commenting and tracking capabilities. Project collaborators will have real-time, remote access to the status of submittals and reviews allowing more flexibility with their time.

Full online application submission, digital storage and archiving of data leads to eliminating paper bulk to become more environmentally protective, and enable ease of retrieval. We hope our Neighbors will take full advantage of these features.
