The City of Fort Lauderdale is designing and constructing the following drainage infrastructure within the Melrose Manors and Riverland Civic Neighborhoods: drainage pipe and structures, forcemains, exfiltration trenches, water quality structures and pump stations. Also, water & sewer line relocations, driveway restoration, tree removal/replacement, pavement restoration, irrigation removal/replacement and swale improvements are a part of the project. This project is partially grant funded by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP).
Project Status:
The City’s design consultant, HDR Engineering Inc., and their subconsultants are currently working on the final construction plans/specifications/estimates. Overall, the final construction plans/specifications/estimates are 85% complete. In addition, HDR Engineering, Inc., has submitted the intermediate construction plans to Broward County, City of Fort Lauderdale Building Department and Florida Department of Environmental Protection for permitting purposes. Also, negotiations with a private property owner for a drainage easement are nearly complete.

City Staff attended the June 26, 2023 Melrose Manors Homeowners Association meeting in order to provide residents with preliminary project information, obtain project feedback and respond to project related questions.
