The Office of Strategic Communications leads the City of Fort Lauderdale’s efforts to keep residents, businesses, visitors, and employees informed, engaged, and connected. Serving as the City’s voice, the department develops and delivers clear, timely, and accurate information across multiple platforms, including digital, print, and community outreach.
Strategic Communications is responsible for media relations, crisis and emergency communications, internal communications, brand management, public information campaigns, and digital platforms. The department oversees the City’s website, social media channels, and publications, ensuring transparency and accessibility of information for all audiences.
In addition to day-to-day messaging, the department partners with City leadership and departments to promote major initiatives, projects, and community needs. By using innovative strategies, storytelling, and inclusive outreach, Strategic Communications helps strengthen trust, foster civic pride, and build meaningful connections between the City and the community it serves.
