Aqua Vista Boulevard Stormwater Improvements Project

The City of Fort Lauderdale and Southeastern Engineering Contractors, Inc. are upgrading the stormwater system at the western end of Aqua Vista Boulevard in Seven Isles. The work includes:

  • Replacing a 10-inch stormwater pipe with a new 15-inch pipe
  • Installing a new valve in the pipe
  • Replacing a catch basin
  • Restoring asphalt and landscaping

Schedule & Hours

  • Timeline: Wednesday, July 29, 2026 – Late August 2026
  • Hours: Mon. – Fri., 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Note: Schedule is subject to change due to weather or unforeseen conditions.

What to Expect 

  • Noise & Dust: Expect intermittent noise from heavy equipment and backup alarms, as well as dust from excavation.
  • Underground Work: Directional boring with entry and exit excavation pits.

Traffic & Parking Impacts

  • Road & Parking Closures: The western end of Aqua Vista Blvd. may experience daily work-hour closures. On-street parking will be restricted in the work zone.
  • Driveway Access: Driveway access will be maintained except during active construction directly in front of properties. Crews will coordinate in advance.
  • Safety: Traffic control personnel will direct vehicles. Follow posted signs and drive with caution.

Waterway Access & Marine Closures

  • Barge Activity: Pipe transport will occur via barge along the canal between Desota/Barcelona Dr. and Aqua Vista Blvd. from NE 26th Terrace to the western end of Aqua Vista Blvd.
  • Canal Closure: Temporary closures at the excavation site during active work.
  • Docked Boats: Vessels docked adjacent to the work site may experience temporary access limits while barges are active. Crews will contact affected owners beforehand.
