Holiday Drive Water Main Extension

The City of Fort Lauderdale is working on the water distribution system along Holiday Drive east of A1A/Seabreeze Boulevard. The work includes:

• Connecting a new segment of water main to the local distribution system, ensuring that nearby properties have sufficient water pressure to operate their fire suppression systems
• Restoring asphalt as needed

Construction will begin on Monday, July 6, 2026, and is expected to be completed by Friday, July 10, 2026. Work will take place overnight between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

• Intermittent noise: Neighbors should expect noise from heavy machinery, equipment and backup safety alarms during working hours.
• Dusty conditions: Digging will be required to expose the new water main and local distribution system, which may create dust around the work site.
• Temporary lighting: Lights will be used to illuminate the work area during work hours.

Traffic Impacts

• Holiday Drive will be open to local traffic only throughout construction.
• Traffic control personnel will direct traffic as needed.
• Please follow posted signs and drive with caution in the area.
