NE 38th Street Sewer Force Main Replacement Project

Project Overview The City of Fort Lauderdale is working with David Mancini & Sons, Inc. to replace sewer force main along NE 38th Street from NE 12th Avenue to US 1 / N. Federal Highway in the City of Oakland Park and the Coral Ridge Country Club Estates neighborhood.
Construction Update: July 10, 2026
Beginning Monday, July 13 through Friday, July 24, asphalt resurfacing will take place at the intersections listed below. Only one intersection will be closed at a time, with each closure lasting approximately two days:
- NE 12th Avenue
- NE 13th Avenue
- NE 16th Avenue
- NE 20th Avenue
Detour signs will direct traffic through neighborhood streets while intersections are closed for restoration. Please follow posted signs and drive with caution.
Schedule
Work is generally taking place Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Some weekend work may be required. All construction has been completed. Final restoration is expected to be completed by late August 2026. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Traffic Impacts
- Eastbound NE 38th Street is closed at NE 20th Avenue through June 30, 2026, while the contractor restores brick pavers and the concrete median at the intersection.
- NE 38th Street is open to local traffic only between N. Dixie Hwy. and NE 20th Ave. and between NE 20th Ave. and US 1 / N. Federal Hwy.
- Traffic on US 1 / N. Federal Hwy. is not permitted to turn onto NE 38th St.
- Detour signs are directing through traffic to/from US 1 / N. Federal Hwy. to NE 45th St. and NE 33rd Ct. through neighborhood streets.
- Please follow posted signs and drive with caution.
Schedule
All construction has been completed. Once the NE 20th Avenue intersection has been restored, crews will transition to roadway and landscaping restoration between N. Dixie Hwy. and US 1 / N. Federal Hwy. in late June. Some restoration activities will require temporary road closures. Restoration is expected to be completed in late summer 2026.
