NW 21st Court Stormwater Improvements Project

The City of Fort Lauderdale and FG Construction are making improvements to the stormwater system along NW 21st Court east of NW 27th Terrace in Rock Island. The work includes:

• Replacing a portion of a 24-inch diameter stormwater pipe
• Restoring impacted asphalt and landscaping

Construction will begin on Monday, July 20, 2026, and is expected to be completed by Friday, August 28, 2026. Work will take place Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect 

• Intermittent noise: Neighbors should expect noise from heavy machinery, equipment and backup safety alarms.

• Dusty conditions: Digging will be required to expose the stormwater pipe, which may create dust around the work site.

Traffic & Parking Impacts

• On-Street Parking: Neighbors are asked to refrain from parking along NW 21st Court east of NW 27th Terrace daily during work hours.
• Lane Closures: The eastbound lane of NW 21st Court east of NW 27th Terrace may be closed daily during work hours.
• Driveways: Access will be maintained unless active construction is occurring directly opposite a driveway, in which case crews will coordinate locally beforehand.
• Safety: Traffic control personnel will direct traffic near the work area. Please follow posted signs and drive with caution.
