Neighborhood Traffic Calming Improvements

The City of Fort Lauderdale is installing speed cushions in selected locations throughout the Edgewood, Downtown, and Tarpon River neighborhoods to help calm traffic and improve safety. Work includes the installation of speed cushion signs and rubber speed cushions.
Work will take place at the following locations:

  • Edgewood
    SW 9th Avenue between SW 32nd Street and SR 84

    SW 30th Street between SW 15th Avenue and SW 9th Avenue.

  • Downtown
    SE 10th Street between South Andrews Avenue and SE 3rd Avenue.

    SW 11th Street between SW 8th Avenue and SW 4th Avenue.

Construction Schedule:

Construction is scheduled to begin the second week of July 2026 and is expected to be completed by mid-August 2026. Work will take place Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. This schedule is subject to change due to weather or unforeseen conditions.

Traffic impacts:

  • Traffic impacts in the neighborhoods are expected to be minimal.
  • Please follow posted signs and drive with caution.
