Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown and marks the beginning of the High Holy Days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. In the Jewish tradition, this time of year is a time to celebrate new beginnings, fresh starts and spiritual renewal. Rosh Hashanah celebrates the Jewish New Year and begins the 10 days leading up to Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement.
This season of reflection offers an opportunity for all of us to look inward and remember what matters most in our lives: our faith, our families, our friends and our community.
As we welcome a new year, we offer our warmest wishes for peace, good health, happiness and hope in the year ahead.
On behalf of the City of Fort Lauderdale, I extend my sincere best wishes to everyone celebrating Rosh Hashanah.
