Sewer Main Repair on NE 49th Street and Bayview Drive

Construction Update:
Since construction on this emergency project began on Thursday, June 18, the sewer main has been repaired and asphalt has been restored.
Remaining activities include brick paver restoration and final pavement markings. Work is taking place Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Work Schedule & Traffic Impacts (7AM–6PM)
Traffic control personnel will direct traffic as needed. Please follow posted signs and drive with caution.
Brick Paver Restoration (Monday, July 13 – Friday, July 17)
- NE 49th Street will be open to local traffic only between NE 29th Avenue and Bayview Drive.
Final Pavement Markings (Tuesday, July 14)
- Bayview Drive will be closed at NE 49th Street.
- Bayview Drive will be open to local traffic only between E. Commercial Boulevard and NE 49th Street and between NE 49th Street and NE 48th Street.
- Local Traffic Detour: NE 47th Street, NE 28th Avenue and Dupont Boulevard.
- Through Traffic Detour: E. Oakland Park Boulevard, US 1 / N. Federal Highway, A1A / N. Ocean Boulevard and E. Commercial Boulevard.
What to Expect
Intermittent noise: Neighbors should expect noise from heavy machinery, equipment and backup safety alarms during working hours.
Driveway Access: Access to driveways will be maintained unless work is taking place in the immediate area across from the driveway. Crews will attempt to coordinate with neighbors prior to the start of operations that will impact driveway access.

- Driveway Access: Access to driveways will be maintained unless work is taking place in the immediate area across from the driveway. Crews will attempt to coordinate with neighbors prior to the start of operations that will impact driveway access.

Original Notice:
The City of Fort Lauderdale and Southern Underground Industries are making repairs to the sewer system in Coral Ridge Country Club Estates. This project includes:
- Repairing approximately 60 feet of sewer gravity main
- Restoring impacted asphalt and landscaping
Construction as part of this emergency project began on Thursday, June 18 and is expected to be completed by Tuesday, June 30. Work is taking place around the clock until the repair is completed. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Intermittent noise from heavy machinery, equipment and backup alarms is expected. Temporary lights will be used to illuminate the work area. The contractor will take measures to reduce light and noise impacts for surrounding properties.
Traffic Impacts
- Bayview Drive is closed at NE 49th Street.
- Bayview Drive is open to local traffic only between E. Commercial Boulevard and NE 49th Street and between NE 49th Street and NE 48th Street.
- NE 49th Street is closed between NE 29th Avenue and east of Bayview Drive.
- Local traffic is being detoured to NE 47th Street, NE 28th Avenue and Dupont Boulevard.
- Through traffic is being detoured to E. Oakland Park Boulevard, US 1 / N. Federal Highway, A1A / N. Ocean Boulevard and E. Commercial Boulevard.
