Construction Update: August 2026

The completion estimate for this project has been extended from late 2026 to early 2027 due to additional rehabilitation work required at the station. Work continues weekdays between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Since construction began on Monday, October 20, 2025, crews have demolished existing components, cleaned on-site structures and installed new pumps. Work remains underway to replace aging equipment and structures to improve the station’s efficiency and long-term reliability.

The City of Fort Lauderdale and Southern Underground Industries, Inc. are rehabilitating and upgrading the sewer pump station along the south side of NE 11th Street between NE 14th Avenue and NE 15th Avenue in Lake Ridge. As part of this project, crews are replacing aging equipment and structures to improve efficiency and enhance reliability. The improvements include:

• Installing new modern pumps, electrical equipment and equipment for monitoring wastewater flow and station capacity
• Repairing underground structures that support the sewer pump station

Traffic Impacts

• NE 11th Street is open to local traffic only from NE 14th Avenue to NE 15th Avenue throughout construction.
• Through traffic is being detoured to NE 14th Avenue, NE 12th Street and NE 15th Avenue.
• Please follow posted signs and drive with caution in the area.
