This November, Fort Lauderdale voters will have a say in how our City government works.

The City Charter is like our city’s constitution. It guides how Fort Lauderdale is governed, defines the roles and responsibilities of City leaders, and establishes the framework for how decisions are made.

The City Commission has approved proposed changes to 21 sections of the City Charter, which will appear on the ballot as 10 questions.

Before you vote, know what’s on your ballot.

We’ve created a webpage where you can review each of the 10 ballot questions, read the proposed ballot language and learn what each change would mean.

Go to spotlightftl.com/charterreview to review the proposed changes.

Any change to the City Charter must ultimately be approved by Fort Lauderdale voters.
