Seeking Ways to Reduce Traffic and Improve Transportation
Fighting to protect downtown
by promoting the construction of a tunnel rather than a high-rise bridge as the best option to cross the New River if Broward County expands commuter rail service through the area.
Required Broward County to construct a
bypass road through Port Everglades
as part of plans for a convention center hotel in order to relieve congestion on SE 17th Street.
Approved a feasibility study to create a
one-way traffic loop around downtown
that would allow for a dedicated rapid-transit loop, wider sidewalks, and bike paths.
Lobbied the county to expedite overdue plans to better
synchronize traffic signals
on primary roadways.
Launched
LauderGO!
, a free, on-demand shuttle service in partnership with Circuit as a convenient and eco-friendly transportation option for residents and visitors alike.
Converted Dixie Highway
from a major thoroughfare to a neighborhood street with
better sidewalks

upgraded landscaping

Supported the creation of a
quiet zone along the Florida East Coast Railroad
to improve the living environment of nearby residents by silencing train horns at crossings.

NE 15th Avenue beautification

traffic calming

replacement of older city bridges
