Pledge of Allegiance Student Volunteer Form

The City welcomes you to sign up your child to lead the Pledge of Allegiance at a Commission meeting.  

Eligibility

  • Open to students in grades K - 12 who either attend school or reside in the City. 

  • Only the parent or legal guardian can submit a form on their child's behalf.  

Meeting Schedule

The City Commission Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of every month at 6:00 p.m., with some exceptions. No meetings are during summer recess, which typically occurs mid-July to early August. This form remains open year-round; entries received during summer recess will be included in the first lottery drawing when meetings resume in the fall. 

Selection Process

  • Cutoff: Entries must be received no later than two (2) Wednesdays before the month's first (1st) Tuesday meeting to be included in that month's drawing. Late entries will automatically be included in the following month's drawing; there is no need to resubmit.

  • Selection: A random selection lottery is run monthly to select up to three (3) students per meeting, up to six (6) total per month. One student per school will be selected, unless open spots exceed schools represented. Selected students will be split across the two meeting dates.

  • Confirmation: The parent or legal guardian will be notified via email. The parent / legal guardian must confirm participation by two (2) Mondays before the first (1st) Tuesday meeting. If we don't hear back by that date, the spot will be offered to the next student in the pool. 

  • Not selected?: Your child automatically stays in the pool for the next month, no need to resubmit.
