Merin Hunter Parking Permit

The City of Fort Lauderdale's parking permit portal for Merin Hunter tenants is now live as of June 1, 2023. All Merin Hunter tenants who utilize the parking facilities on the second, third, and roof top levels of City Hall Garage are now eligible to purchase virtual parking permits on a monthly basis.

Virtual permits are associated with the vehicle's license plate number, removing the need for replacing physical monthly parking permits on vehicles. In addition, this permit program will allow for online payments. All permits are valid for the full month of purchase and will not be prorated.

Where can I buy my permit?

The City of Fort Lauderdale has transitioned to an online system for many of our parking permit programs, including the Merin Hunter tenant permits.

Will I be issued a decal?

No - all Merin Hunter monthly tenant parking permits are virtual and associated with the vehicle's license plate number.

If I am not issued a decal, how will parking enforcement know I have a permit?

The parking enforcement specialists will search for any active permits linked to your vehicle's license plate number through our License Plate Recognition (LPR) system or their handheld device. If you receive a citation in error, please contact our Merin Hunter Billing Specialist at the contact information at the bottom of this webpage.

How to I create a City of Fort Lauderdale Parking Services account?

You can create an account in just a few, easy steps:

  1. Create an online account through the online by clicking here to access the parking portal home page. You will need the validation code provided by our Merin Hunter Billing Specialist to access these permits.
  2. Click on "Sign Up."
  3. Create a new guest account referencing your business name as the First Name and company point of contact under the Last Name.

Please allow at least five (5) minutes after creating your account before attempting to purchase permits to allow the parking system to register your account.

Are there any instructions on how to navigate the parking portal?

What documentation is required to apply for a permit?

You are only required to provide the permit validation code and license plate numbers of the vehicles when purchasing the permits.

How can I pay for the parking permits?

All permits must be purchased online through the parking permit portal only. The City accepts American Express, MasterCard, and Visa credit cards.

Will I still be invoiced monthly for my parking permits? What about monthly parking validation codes?

You will no longer receive monthly invoices for parking permits. All tenants will be responsible for purchasing their monthly parking permit at the beginning of each month. Those tenants who pay for validation codes will still receive a monthly invoice for those codes only.

I am temporarily driving an alternative vehicle or rental vehicle that does not have a monthly parking permit, what are my options to park?

For temporary parking placards, please reach out to Merin Hunter's office directly for assistance. Pay-by-Phone and the physical parking pay stations are also available as an alternative means to pay to park in City Hall garage.

When entering our vehicle license plate numbers, I received a notification that the license plate number was already associated with another account. What do I do?

Your employees may already have their license plate registered under a personal account; however, you can still add their license plate number to the business account you are creating. Simply select "Next" when that message appears to continue through the process of adding the license plate to the account.

When purchasing the parking permits, I received a notification that there was an unpaid parking citation issued to one of the vehicles and it would not let me finalize my payment. How do I finish my purchase?

City policy notes that all unpaid parking citations must be paid prior to purchasing parking permits from the City of Fort Lauderdale's Parking Services Department. Once the citation is paid in full, the system will allow you to proceed with payment.
