The public is invited to submit comments on any agenda items to BeachBusinessImprovementDistrictAdvisoryCommittee@fortlauderdale.gov.
Comments must be submitted no later than 48 hours prior to the start of a meeting. Keep in mind that your e-mail address, comments, and other information will become part of the official public record, as required by Florida law. If you do not want your personal information included in the official record, do not proceed.
The Beach Business Improvement District Advisory Committee shall have eleven (11) members consisting of ten (10) of the ten highest assessed property owners or a representative of such assessed property owners, if the property owner is an entity and not an individual, and one member recommended by and from the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce Beach Council. Property owners that are entities and not individuals may elect to designate an alternate representative, and such alternate representative shall also be appointed by the City Commission.
PURPOSE OF THE BBID ADVISORY COMMITTEE: Monitor the progress of the Beach Business Improvement District; make recommendations on services, enhancements, special programs and events.
GOALS & OBJECTIVES: Fort Lauderdale Beach is in the on-going process of transforming itself into a world-class beach resort area. The establishment of a Beach Improvement District along the beach assists in:
o Establishing Fort Lauderdale Beach as a premiere resort destination
o Significantly increasing tourism in the area
o Expanding business revenue and increasing economic growth
o Enhancing the physical appearance and increasing the attractiveness of the district
o Developing pedestrian friendly sidewalks
o Creating a unique sense of place for visitors to enjoy
o Improving the overall image of the beach
