Public Comments
The public is invited to submit comments on any agenda items to NorthwestProgressoFlaglerHeightsRedevelopmentBoard@fortlauderdale.gov
Comments must be submitted no later than 48 hours prior to the start of a meeting.
Keep in mind that your e-mail address, comments, and other information will become part of the official public record, as required by Florida law. If you do not want your personal information included in the official record, do not proceed.
Purpose and Duties
- To review the Plan for the NPFCRA and recommend any changes to the Plan.
- To make recommendations regarding the exercise of the City Commission's powers as a community redevelopment agency in order to implement the Plan and carry out and effectuate the purposes and provisions of Chapter 61-2165, Laws of Florida and Section 163.330 through 163.450, Florida Statutes in the NPFCRA.
- To receive input from members of the public interested in redevelopment of the NPFCRA and to report such information to the City Commission.
In making appointments to the Board, consideration should be given to seeking representatives as follows:
- Ten (10) members from the Northwest area and five (5) members from the Progresso and Flagler Heights area who reside, engage in business or both in the respective areas. For purposes of Ordinance NO. C-96-23, persons who engage in business means a person owning a business, practicing a profession or performing a service for compensation or serving as an officer or director of a corporation or other business entity so engaged.
- A financier or banker, an architect, an engineer, an educator, a law enforcement professional, social worker.
- A person experienced in real estate sales and development.
- An urban planner or design professional.
- A building contractor.
