Purpose and Duties

  1. To review existing City infrastructure, including, but not limited to: roads, sidewalks, airports, seawalls, water and wastewater distribution and collection systems, treatment plants, well fields, parks and all City facilities and structures and examine their current condition.
  2. To review and identify the repair or replacement as well as review and identify funding sources and financing alternatives for those infrastructure improvements.
  3. To receive input from members of the public interested in infrastructure improvements within the City.
  4. To provide a report with recommendations to the City Commission regarding improvement priorities as well as financing alternatives for said improvements.
  5. To evaluate and provide a recommendation on the feasibility and impact of implementing a moratorium on the acceptance of an application for or issuance of a development permit within the City.

The committee members shall have education, background or experience in one of the following categories:

  1. Design and engineering (i.e., landscape architecture, urban planning, and civil engineering).
  2. Municipal (i.e., city administration, former elected official, and former public works director).
  3. Finance (i.e., governmental finance and private finance)
  4. Law (i.e., municipal law and corporate law).
  5. Developer (i.e., private development.)
  6. Community Association (i.e., active membership in civic, neighborhood or homeowner's association).
