Employee Relations
The work of Employee Relations creates a direct link between the employees, managers and executives.
Employee Relations is responsible for:
- Bargaining with four labor organizations that represent the City’s workforce, through six collective bargaining agreements and labor contract administration.
- Trains managers and supervisors in best employee relations practices and strategies for managing conflicts and employee grievances.
- Training in contract changes and in other related areas.
- Conducting research on operational and emerging employer issues and communicate the findings.
- Assisting department directors and managers to ensure organizational compliance with labor and employment laws.
- Analyzing operational and emerging employer issues and makes recommendations; and assists management in policy and organizational development.
