Adopt-a-Shoreline

The City of Fort Lauderdale invites neighbors, civic associations, businesses and organizations to help preserve the natural beauty of our waterways. The Adopt-a-Shoreline Program is more than a cleanup initiative — it’s a community effort to protect wildlife, build connections and keep our waterways vibrant for generations to come.
 
The program provides:
  • Litter grabbers
  • Gloves 
  • Garbage bags
  • Green Your Routine points for participating neighborhoods

After application approval, volunteers will:

  • Adopt a shoreline, canal, or lake section and host at least 3 cleanups per year
  • Notify the City 14 days in advance of each cleanup
  • Dispose of trash responsibly
