Northwest-Progresso-Flagler Heights CRA

In November 1995, the Fort Lauderdale City Commission adopted Resolution 95-170, creating the Northwest-Progresso-Flagler Heights Community Redevelopment Area (NPF CRA). The original Community Redevelopment Plan was adopted in 1995 and subsequently amended in 2016. In 2025, the CRA Plan was amended and restated to provide an updated vision and implementation framework for the redevelopment area through November 7, 2035.

The revised Redevelopment Plan is organized around five core goals: Economic Development; Housing and Residential Life; Public Improvements and Infrastructure; Transportation, Mobility, and Parking; and Redevelopment Support. These goals are intended to guide CRA investments, incentive programs, public improvements, affordable housing efforts, cultural preservation, mobility improvements, and public-private partnerships.

The Plan continues to support the CRA’s mission to eliminate slum and blight, stimulate economic investment, improve infrastructure, preserve community identity, and expand opportunities for residents and businesses within the NPF CRA. This effort is led by the City of Fort Lauderdale Board of City Commissioners in its capacity as the Fort Lauderdale Community Redevelopment Agency Board of Commissioners. The CRA Advisory Board also serves to support the overall CRA mission and enrich the community.

 

NPF CRA Advisory Board

The Northwest-Progresso-Flagler Heights Redevelopment Advisory board was established under Ordinance C-96-23 and appointed by the City Commission. The advisory board makes recommendations to the community redevelopment agency in regard to implementing the redevelopment plan.

The Northwest-Progresso-Flagler Heights Redevelopment Advisory Board consists of members who are residents of, own property in, or are employed in the City of Fort Lauderdale. The Northwest-Progresso-Flagler Heights Redevelopment Advisory Board comprises of the following appointed members:

Meetings

The Northwest-Progresso-Flagler Heights Redevelopment Advisory Board meets the second Tuesday of the month at 3:00 p.m. at the CRA office, located at 914 Sistrunk Blvd, Suite 200, Fort Lauderdale, FL, 33311(Conference Room).
