How to Make a Report

  • Report online at LauderBuild.

  • Mail or bring the Community Enhancement and Compliance Complaint Form(PDF, 99KB) to the Community Enhancement and Compliance Division at 700 NW 19th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311.
  • Email us at and include your name and address. Please note: All emails and written communication are public records and may be subject to public disclosure. As of July 1, 2021, Florida law governed by CS/SB 60 prohibits a code inspector from initiating enforcement proceedings for a potential violation of a duly enacted code or ordinance by way of an anonymous complaint. A person who reports a potential violation of a code or an ordinance must provide his or her name and address to the respective local government before an enforcement proceeding may occur. This paragraph does not apply if the code inspector has reason to believe that the violation presents an imminent threat to public health, safety, or welfare or imminent destruction of habitat or sensitive resources.

Reporting Animal Issues

Report Animal Cruelty

Call the Broward County Animal Cruelty Hotline at 311. If you witness acts of cruelty against livestock, farm animals, or wildlife such as birds, ducks and raccoons, please call your local law enforcement agency. You may also report animal cruelty to BSO Crime Stoppers anonymously by calling 954-493-8477 or Submit a Tip online.

Sick or Injured Stray Animals

Please contact Broward County Animal Care and Adoption Division at 954-359-1313 ext. 9249 or the Fort Lauderdale Police Department non-emergency number at 954-764-HELP (4357). Please contact the South Florida Wildlife Center (8 a.m. - 6 p.m.) at 954-524-4302 regarding sick or injured wildlife.

Deceased Animal Removal

For removal of dead animals from the City right of ways or swales please contact the Customer Service Hotline at 954-828-8000.

Please note that removal of dead animals from private property is the responsibility of the property owner. If the deceased animal is on private property, please contact a private pickup service for its removal.

Reporting Unsightly Utility Boxes

Please provide a specific address or cross street so that we can locate the utility box when contacting our office at 954-828-8000.

Neighbors may also call the 24-Hour Neighbor Call Center at 954-828-8000, or complete a FixIt FTL Service Form online, or use the FixIt FTL app on your Android or Apple mobile devices. The FixIt FTL app can be downloaded from Apple or Google Play. If photos are available, please attach them to your service request.
