CDBG-DR Funding Allocation - Fort Lauderdale Flood April 2023

On December 21, 2024, the Disaster Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2025 (Public Law 118-158) (‘the 2025 Appropriations Act”) made available an allocation of $88,051,000 in Community Development Block Grant -Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funding to the City of Fort Lauderdale.

Timeline of Planning Processes

A timeline of City of Fort Lauderdale disaster recovery actions related to April 12, 2023, flood is summarized below. The timeline will be updated with the most recent information as it becomes available. 

  • Early 2026: Initial Programs Begin Rollout (Currently underway)
  • Winter 2025: HUD provides Grant Agreement and Authorizes Funding
  • December 2025: HUD Approval of Action Plan
  • October 2025: City Commission Approval of Action Plan and Submission to HUD for Review
  • September- October 2025: Draft Action Plan is Published Online for Public Comment
  • August - September 2025: Draft Action Plan Development Period
